Self employmentMore and more people with learning difficulties are starting to look at self employment and small business ownership as way to get a job.
It is important to link your skills and interests to a community need or opportunity and to think carefully about the business idea. More supported employment agencies are able to support people to think about self employment. There have been a few projects looking supporting people to explore self-employment. The Foundation for People with Learning Disabilities developed some guides about self employment to help with business planning. Our partners at Rapid Enterprise Development (RED) have also published a series of guides. www.rapid-enterprise.co.uk |
