Supported internships offer an excellent way to for young people with a learning disability or autism to explore employment options. They are for people who really want to get a full time job at the end.
Internships are a type of study programme specifically aimed at young people aged 16 to 24 who have an EHC plan, and who want to move into employment and need extra support to do so. Over 70% of people get a paid job at the end of their internship. Supported internships offer

Programmes
There are a number of different programmes in Bristol. Three run as a partnership between Bristol City Council, City of Bristol College and the Sixteen Co-operative Ltd, a supported employment agency.
Project SEARCH works with 8-10 people and will be based at the University of the West of England from September 2019. This offers placements in a variety of settings - from administration to security, catering support to working in the library.
Bristol Internship Programmes I and II (B-SiP) are currently based at the College Green campus and work with a number of employers across Bristol. Both offer 8-10 places each year.
